Welcome to This Is Chinnor, THE site for Chinnor, a village in the foothills of the Chilterns.
We're a friendly village with lots of activities, sports and events. We created this website to help keep everyone up to date and to provide news and information about such activities and the community groups that organise and manage them. They let us know what's going on and we share this with everyone.
All local groups are welcome to promote their events with us, just get in touch and we'll put it on the site. Don't forget to send us a poster.
Local news is all around us and as almost everyone now carries a camera with them on their phone, they can take photos, are you a budding journalist? a cub reporter or just someone who happens to be in the right place at the right time? again just tell us the news and we'll share it here.
We hope you find the site useful but if you think there's something missing do please get in touch and we'll endeavour to add it. You can add comments to selected articles on the site and send us some feedback via our VISITORS BOOK.
Our monthly Climate Café takes place this Thursday 12th in Chinnor Village Centre from 10.30-11.30am and every second Thursday at the same times. It's a welcoming space for people (not just Chinnor residents) to join the conversation about climate change, nature and the environment. All are welcome.
Remember a Loved One This Spring with a Sunset Rose
This spring, Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity has partnered with the magnificent Waddesdon Manor to create a beautiful new Forever Flowers tribute. In April, the Rose Garden at Waddesdon Manor near Aylesbury will be transformed by a stunning temporary display of 1,200 bespoke metal Sunset Roses, each symbolising the life, love and memories of someone special.
Chinnor Players Present: Noises Off by Michael Frayn — a brilliantly fast-paced comedy that offers a hilarious glimpse behind the scenes of a struggling theatre company.
