Welcome to This Is Chinnor, THE site for Chinnor, a village in the foothills of the Chilterns.

We're a friendly village with lots of activities, sports and events. We created this website to help keep everyone up to date and to provide news and information about such activities and the community groups that organise and manage them. They let us know what's going on and we share this with everyone.

All local groups are welcome to promote their events with us, just get in touch and we'll put it on the site. Don't forget to send us a poster.

Local news is all around us and as almost everyone now carries a camera with them on their phone, they can take photos, are you a budding journalist? a cub reporter or just someone who happens to be in the right place at the right time? again just tell us the news and we'll share it here.

We hope you find the site useful but if you think there's something missing do please get in touch and we'll endeavour to add it. You can add comments to selected articles on the site and send us some feedback via our VISITORS BOOK.

  • Saturday 21st February — Stuart Henderson’s Trumpet Legends

    Write a comment

Mr Henderson was once HM Queen Elizabeth’s trumpeter — he’s now in civvie street and regarded as one of the UK’s finest players. His classical, jazz, folk and stage credentials are top-notch and he’s bringing us a show that illustrates how great trumpet players have shaped different genres through the decades. On stage with Stuart will be Dean Stockdale (piano), Paul Jefferies (bass) and Gaz Hughes (drums).

  • Thank You from The Princes Risborough Young Farmers Club

Princes Risborough Young Farmers Club would like to thank everyone who supported both the Christmas Charity Road Run and the Christmas Tree Collection.

An incredible crowd lined all along the route to see a parade of 300 vintage, modern tractors and commercial vehicles.

With the committee supported by an army of volunteers’ bucket collecting and marshalling along with several local businesses and our sponsors: Addingrove Dairy, K&A Scaffolding, M Stevens Garden Machinery, Johnson Agri Plant and Kingshills Estate Agents it was a great way to start Christmas for many.
