Two new homes could be built in an Oxfordshire village if plans are approved next week. Applicant Benjamin Hill Designs Ltd wants to build the homes at Littlewick House in Mill Lane, Chinnor. The application includes parking and access and it will be decided by South Oxfordshire District Council's planning committee on Wednesday, December 11.  Planning officers have recommended it be permitted.  It has been brought before the committee due to an objection from Chinnor Parish Council.

This is in additional nine other public objections and two letters of support.  A scheme for three homes at the same site was refused in 2022. The objection from Paul Gormley, of Oxford Down, said: “I object under the basis that the area is already over developed. The owner of the site has made repeated applications to develop on the land all of which have not been granted.  “The land could have been sold with the original development, in doing so a more seamless estate could have been created.  “I believe a better purpose for the space would be a community allotment site." In the planning officers' report, it said: "The proposed development would be acceptable in principle and would conserve the landscape setting of this part of the settlement.  "The scale, form and appearance of the proposal would be in keeping with the character and appearance of the area, would have an acceptable impact on residential amenity and all technical matters relating to drainage, trees, ecology, landscaping, access and parking and waste management could be satisfactorily addressed."
